Lying at the start of the main path to Goatfell, on the beautiful Isle of Arran, Saltwater Gallery was opened earlier this year in what was once the laundry building for nearby Brodick Castle, providing a gallery space for contemporary art within walking distance of the Isle’s ‘capital’, Brodick, where the ferry with the Scottish mainland arrives. Many of its artists take inspiration from the maritime life and culture that encircles the island, and the gallery is set to welcome visitors seeking gifts in its festive shopping weekends and its mixed winter exhibition.
