With featured artist Gordon Wilson, Fifteen Years at the Whitehouse Gallery in Kirkcudbright celebrates a decade and a half in business for one of Dumfries & Galloway’s top galleries. Wilson’s subject matter ranges from quirky portraiture to emotive landscapes and seascapes. His love of the Scottish west coast and the everchanging moods of the countryside is complemented by amusing narratives in his popular paintings of old ladies (biddies), belted Galloways (cows, that is) and Clyde “puffers”. A mixed exhibition, Fifteen Years also includes the return of the award-winning Scottish artist Emma Davis RSW PAI with a collection of landscapes and still lifes. She is joined by a number of new and returning artists and makers working in a diverse range of styles and media, including glass, ceramic, jewellery and sculpture.
