What’s in a name?

As the spring ebbs and flows across Scotland, there’s lots of changes on the hospitality front. New restaurants open, old ones get a revamp; bars change names, new licensees take the reins. Inspiration for new names seems to come from all sorts of places. The Bonham, the boutique hotel in Edinburgh’s west end went back to its roots when it choose the new name for its bar. The Consulting Room was inspired by the fact that the Drumsheugh Gardens building was once the private clinic of two of the city’s foremost surgeons, Captain Henry Wade of the Scottish Horse Mounted Brigade and Professor David Wilkie of Edinburgh University.
