Bar and Grill at the Hamilton Grand

Watering hole

Hole in one on the Old Course in St Andrews? Time to head for Ham’s Hame. It’s the bar and grill at the Hamilton Grand, students’ hall-turned-luxury location overlooking the Links and the West Sands.

After Hamilton’s two-and-a-half year refurbishment, the bar’s name was the result of a competition – as General Manager, Daniel Pereira, explains: “We had well over 100 entries with some wonderful ideas for the name. The one chosen tips a nod of respect to Thomas Hamilton, the Victorian entrepreneur who built the original Grand Hotel. And ‘Hame’ is the perfect summing up of exactly what we hope the new bar and grill will become: a home for golfers, caddies and visitors to St Andrews to enjoy the very best of Scottish hospitality, food and drink.”
