Dunbar-based artist Eleanor Cunningham is mounting an exhibition, Regeneration, at Abbey Church in North Berwick. Eleanor has exhibited at Dukes of West Barns in Dunbar, and in this exhibition she explores the strong connection between memory, landscape, and the human experience of renewal after difficult periods.
A blend of acrylic and collage paintings with immersive installation, Eleanor’s Masters exhibition looks at how both people and landscapes regenerate over time, centring on ink drawings on paper, representing the act of walking through the landscape. The church has a large corner-window, framing a beautiful view of the East Lothian coast and the John Muir Way, inviting visitors to reflect on their own experiences of place and memory.
On Sat 1st March at 13:30 Eleanor will be in conversation with aerial videographer Andy Smith and composer Chris Tolley, exploring how visual art, music and film can be brought together (free via Eventbrite ticketing).
Eleanor graduated in 1999 in Textile Design at the Scottish College of Textiles, and is studying for a Masters in Fine Art at Falmouth University in England.
