Various dates, 2020-2022. Live-streamed exhibition Weds 15th July 2:30pm (Italian time).

There has been a major shake-up of dates of the prestigious Venice Biennale, with Biennale Architettura April – November 2021, and Biennale Arte April – November 2022. Other Biennales are to proceed this September and October – Teatro (14th-24th Sept), Cinema (2nd – 12th Sept), Musica (25th Sept – 4th Oct) and Danza (13th – 25th Oct). The 17th International Architecture Exhibition will last 6 months, from May 22nd to November 21st, and the 59th International Art Exhibition will be held in 2022, from April 23rd to November 27th.

There will be an online exhibition on the most significant episodes of the history of La Biennale for the first time curated by all the Directors of the six Artistic Sectors (Art, Architecture, Cinema, Dance, Music, Theatre) in a live stream on the Biennale’s website on Wednesday, July 15th 2020 at 2.30 p.m. (Italian time), comprising materials and documents from the Biennale’s archives and other national and international archives. The speakers for this will include Roberto Cicutto President of La Biennale di Venezia, Cecilia Alemani Director of the Visual Arts Department, Alberto Barbera Director of the Cinema Department, Marie Chouinard Director of the Dance Department, Ivan Fedele Director of the Music Department, Antonio Latella Director of the Theatre Department, Hashim Sarkis Director of the Architecture Department.

Finally, from Wednesday, July 15th, La Biennale is offering residents and visitors of the city of Venice and its surroundings (arts and culture lovers, families, students and scholars) a wide range of educational activities, free guided tours (advanced booking required), the exhibition La Biennale at the Arsenale 1998/2020, as well as other initiatives to be held in the exhibition venues of the Giardini and the Arsenale.
