A racecourse is the latest organisation trying to lure Foodies to its events. Perth Races at Scone is launching a Scottish Food and Drink Day and Farmers’ Market in September. Alongside the horses, bookies and jockeys, race-goers will get a taste of Perthshire and an opportunity to sample local produce in a farmers-style market. This year marks 400 years of racing in Perth. “We wanted to commemorate this very special occasion with a suitably exciting fixture list that would demonstrate Perth Racecourse’s facilities and its ability to host a great day out,” said Sam Morshead, the racecourse manager. Alongside the food and drink event, other new fixture themes include a Bavarian-style Bierfest race meet in May when you can combine an appreciation of quality beers with the horseracing.
