The Snowman, a play based on Raymond Briggs’ much-loved book and featuring Howard Blake’s classic song Walking In The Air, has come to Glasgow. The play has captured audiences with its magic for over twenty years since it first premiered. The brilliant costumes and scenery of this production bring this show to life for the young and older audience.
The seamless scenery is stunning and the costumes – on the numerous furry animals as well as the fluffy snowmen – really bring this production to life.
This is the perfect show to start your Christmas outings with as it’ll transport you to the world of snowy, cosy and Christmassy nights. The show tells a story about a young boy and his snowman who comes to life on Christmas Eve. The audience follows their night-time adventures where they meet Father Christmas, dancing penguins, reindeer and crowds of the Snowman’s friends, but will they escape evil Jack Frost and get back home for Christmas morning?
Music and lyrics by Howard Blake; design Ruari Murchison; lighting design Tim Mitchell; choreography Robert North; directed by Bill Alexander. By arrangement with Snowman Enterprises Limited (A Penguin Company) and Chester Music Limited. Image rights applied for.
