Our Bright Earth, an exhibition by four women artists from Dumfries and Galloway, each responding to land and light in individual ways.

Heather Armstrong became a ceramic artist following her retirement as a medical doctor, and makes hand built, smoke fired, sculptural ceramic vessels. Bella Green grew up in Glasgow, and has been based in Dumfriesshire since 1997: a graduate of Norwich School of Art, she taught colour and drawing at the London’s Royal College of Art for twenty years. Caroline Hone relocated from England to ‘glorious Galloway’ just over five years ago: as she puts it, ‘My colourful palette leads to a joyous celebration and positivity towards our habitat’; and Patti Leino divides her time between Kirkcudbright and Finland, having graduated from the Universities of Edinburgh and Cumbria. She has taught Fine Art at Cumbria 2001-2018, is a PhD researcher in Fine Art Practice, and honorary president of Dumfries and Galloway Fine Arts Society.
