Returning for his fourth solo exhibition at Roger Billclife Gallery in Glasgow, artist Peter Graham demonstrates why he is considered one of Britain’s foremost colourists. His work is often linked to the Scottish Colourists of the early 20th century. but with his own flamboyant style, combining detailed brushwork with loose, fluid strokes to create vibrant contrasts of pure colour, line and tone. He says, ‘This show encapsulates my journey with paint, discovering the delights of New York, the Backs at Trinity College, Cambridge and the idyllic St Tropez port – brighter than I could ever have imagined.’
