Aberfeldy’s Watermill gallery’s exhibition Seeing the Unseen shows three artists – Matt Storsein, Paul Martin and Jill Martin Boualaxai – sharing a common purpose to convey delight in the meaningful materiality of the world. Their works seek out the exceptional in the seemingly mundane; exploring the constant ebb and flow of the world around us. They use a similar contemplative and evocative approach which looks beneath the surface of things to discover the history and poetry of their subjects. In these works there are signs which trigger memory and knowledge, some of which remind us of past experiences and some which convey energy or excitement.
