Online, 30th July – 29th August

Now open by appointment, The Scottish Gallery continues its Summer programme in a blend of the physical and online. Alongside a virtual tour of the Gallery, exhibitions and Meet the Artist events, the Gallery has planned online lectures as well as numerous articles, tour guide films, artist insights, archive films and blogs, to appear over the coming weeks.

One online highlight is Modern Masters Women, reflecting on a key area of Scottish art history and reviewing 125 years of exhibiting women artists, and a celebration of the pioneering, persistent, creative women artists at the end of the 19th century, along with the gallerists and individual talents who have contributed to the equality enjoyed today in the cultural realm. A 164-page fully illustrated publication has been published to accompany the exhibition – the first comprehensive publication the Gallery has produced since lockdown, which can be viewed online here and can be purchased online for £12.50.
