Visit website

Canaletto & the Art of Venice at The Queen’s Gallery bring together the best 18th century Venetian art in the Royal Collection, which thanks to the young George III contains the world’s finest group of paintings, drawings and prints by Venice’s most famous view-painter. The exhibition explores the many delights of “La Serenissima”, from the splendours of the Grand Canal and St Mark’s Square to its festivals, theatres and masked carnival. Canaletto’s greatest works are shown alongside paintings and drawings by his contemporaries Sebastiano and Marco Ricci, Francesco Zuccarelli, Pietro Longhi and Giovanni Battista Piazzetta.
