The Old Mill at Palnackie, on the Solway coast in Dumfries and Galloway, is home to an exhibition space, bookshop and art studios; its founders, Edward and Lucy C Campbell, aim to ‘create a space for enquiry into the connection between creativity, spirit and our natural environment.’ In addition to a permanent exhibition of works by Edward, and Sheila Mullen, the studio and garden are open to visitors.

A Spring/Summer programme of courses is available, with a theme of making and experiencing using art materials hand-crafted and foraged from the local landscape: A Palette from Plants on 14th May and, separately, 2nd July, Trysting Trees: Hawthorn on 28th and 29th May, Spring Fling 2022 on 3rd, 4th and 5th June, Trysting Trees: Alder 18th and 19th June, Playing With Paper on 9th July and separately 6th August, Trysting Trees: Oak on 30th and 31st July, Materials Matter on 13th and 14th August, and finally Trysting Trees: Ash on 27th and 28th August.
