The 10th Edinburgh Iranian Festival takes place in March 2019, with music, performances, film screenings, talks, cooking workshops, and many more exciting events. The Nomads Tent is thrilled to be a major venue for this incredible energetic festival once again and is hosting a two-day Iranian Craft Bazaar introducing Iranian crafts and food to the people of Edinburgh on the weekend of March 2nd and 3rd 2019. Women’s attire, jewellery, Persian recipe kits, mixed media artwork, cushions, rugs, painted glassware and ceramics, sweets and saffron are among the many items that will be on offer.

Throughout the weekend The Nomads Tent will be hosting various free events as well as the Iranian Craft Bazaar. The weekend kicks off with the Persian Catwalk Fashion Show showcasing high-end women’s attire from four top Iranian designers. On Sunday there is an Iranian Bagpipe Workshop and Discussion Panel where participants will have the unique opportunity to learn about the Iranian ney-anban with maestro Moshen Sharifian. The weekend concludes with a talk by Jennifer Scarce, The Shah’s Wardrobe, which will describe and illustrate the dress culture of Safavid Isfahan through surviving examples of textiles and garments supplemented by both Persian and European visual and literary evidence.

All the events at The Nomads Tent are free to attend and there is no need to book.
