[Until 31st August]
Intimate: a portrait is one of two exhibitions at The Fine Art Society in Edinburgh, in the heart of Edinburgh’s elegant New Town gallery district. It presents close and personal portraiture, including painting, sculpture and photography, by living and twentieth century artists whose sitters are closest to them. Scottishness links the artists, be that birth, training or home. Each work captures the essence of an individual known in a very particular way by the artist.
Artists include Mabel Royds, James McBey, Joan Eardley RSA, John Boyd, John Byrne RSA, Will Maclean RSA, John Bellany RA, Leon Morrocco RSA, Nicole Farhi CBE MRSS, Norman McBeath, Steven Campbell, Jennifer McRae RSA, Maud Sulter, Niall McDiarmid and Ishbel Myerscough.
