City Contemporary Art in Perth’s dedicated solo show space is host to a powerfully solo exhibition by Karen Strang, Succubus*, expressing what is described as her female demons, in a dramatic, sometimes disturbing, beautiful series of figurative oil paintings. Also, until 8th November, the gallery is presenting an autumn show of new artworks by gallery-affiliated artists Jonathan Shearer, Nael Hanna, Fiona Haldane, Gary Harper, Nicola Martin, Philip Braham, Karen Strang and Jonathan Mitchell. *A Succubus is a demon or supernatural entity in folklore, in female form, which appears in dreams to seduce men, usually through sexual activity.
