A busy April at Edinburgh auction rooms Lyon & Turnbull starts on 16th April at 10:00 with Select Jewellery & Watches, followed on the 17th and 18th by Design Since 1860 *, celebrating work by artists and designers from all the major modern design movements of the period, including the Aesthetic and Arts & Crafts movements of the second half of the 19th century, the Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the 20th century, Art Deco and early Modernism.

Luxury Handbags and Accessories, also on the 18th, is followed by Travel & Vintage Posters (pictured) on the 24th (viewing at Mall Galleries, London), Lalique on the 25th, and Modern Made: Modern, Post-War & Contemporary Art, Design, Craft and Studio Ceramics on the 25th and 26th.

Contemporary Art on 30th April rounds-off the month, and there’s an exciting start to May with its Prints and Multiples ft. Selected Works from Edinburgh Printmakers auction, which as its name implies, includes not only print-work from the world’s best 20th and 21st-century printmakers such as Andy Warhol, Bridget Riley and John Piper, but also the cream of Scottish printmaking, including work by John Byrne (pictured above signing his print Moonstruck, pictured below). Works will be on sale by other premier Scottish printmakers from the Edinburgh Printmakers stable, including Alasdair Gray, John Bellany, Adrian Wiszniewski, Rachel Maclean, Kate Downie and Alan Davie, with proceeds going to support its continuing mission to facilitate and advance printmaking in Scotland.
