The Brunton is heading out to Musselburgh Racecourse for a summer of outdoor theatre as part of its Festival Fringe programme*. The outdoor theatre company Illyria performs Shakespeare’s much loved comic play Much Ado About Nothing (Fri 13th August at 7pm. There will be a pop-up cafe/bar). Quantum Theatre brings a new, action-packed adaptation of the classic pirate adventure, Treasure Island. (Saturday 14th August at 1pm & 4pm. Audiences can bring a picnic if they wish – no alcohol permitted.) Scottish Opera’s Pop-up Opera performs two Gilbert & Sullivan favourites, HMS Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance (Saturday 21st August & Sunday 22nd August, var. times).
