London’s Regent’s Park plays host in October to Frieze London and Frieze Masters fair and exhibition, bringing together galleries from 42 countries, including Scotland, to celebrate ‘the creative spirit of the city’. Led by Eva LangretFrieze London will feature over 160 of the world’s leading contemporary galleries, while the international fair Frieze Masters, directed by Nathan Clements-Gillespie, will feature over 120 galleries, showing work from ancient to modern. Among the galleries represented are Edinburgh’s Ingleby Gallery and The Modern Institute, based in Glasgow.

Frieze London 2022 offers visitors the opportunity to view work by some of the most important artists working today, and discover new names. A portion of the fair, Focus, is devoted to galleries established in the last 12 years. The fair centres around themes that are shaping conversations about contemporary art today, with a special section, Indra’s Net, featuring ten dedicated presentations, and a number of cabinet-style displays scattered throughout the main section of the fair.

Frieze Masters, also at the park, showcases six millennia of art – from rare antiquities to Old Master paintings and 20th-century luminaries. The Spotlight section, curated by Camille Morineau, will be dedicated to women artists, and the section Stand Out, curated by Luke Syson, takes a fresh look at the global exchange of great works of design and art from across the ages.
