Showing at Burnside Gallery & Frames in Selkirk, is 2024 group – as its name indicates, a group show by artists who have exhibited at the gallery before and are returning with fresh ideas, featuring landscape, abstract and figures in oil, watercolour, acrylic, ink, collage and woodcut. John Berry, Kate Hajducka, James Hutcheson, Val Menon, whose work is pictured below, Sylvia Quinn Home, Emma Whigham and Carol Ritchie, whose work is pictured above, all possess an eye for rhythm and recurring elements, with their own ways of telling a story, making for interesting contrasts between the artists, who share an ethos of thinking deeply about their subjects and bringing their experience to bear on expressing it clearly.

It will be a rolling exhibition, with sold work replaced by new. The gallery is now in its fourth year – opened in December 2020 by Borders artist / graphic designer Charly Ternero and photographer / framer Javier Ternero, who specialise in showcasing new and local talent.
