Edinburgh’s The Nomads Tent is launching an exhibition and sale of new hand-woven Gabbeh rugs, which were originally used for sleeping on by nomadic shepherds of South West Iran. Traditionally plain, often one colour with a few simple figures of people or animals, they became popular in the 1980s for their beautiful simplicity, evolving into a contemporary classic design, reflecting the imagery of the nomadic life.
