Now in its 21st year, the High St. Gallery in Kirkcudbright moves into a new phase after the passing of co-founder Richard Ross. Presently showing is a mixed exhibition of contemporary Scottish artists, including James Macaulay, Davy Brown, Jolomo, Hazel Campbell, Richard Ross, Alexander R. Robb, Peter Jones and David Hay. There is also hand-painted anodised aluminium jewellery by Miranda Peckitt, pottery by Wilson Lochhead and an eclectic mix of Scottish studio pottery, vintage British, Scandinavian and other European pottery and art glass, while there are decorative items from key periods such as Georgian, Victorian, Arts and Crafts Movement, Art Nouveau and Art Deco alongside paintings by the Kirkcudbright artists’ colony, active between 1900 and 1950.
