It is well-known that contact with nature leads to increased well-being and for many of us during the past year immersing ourselves in the landscape near or around us has been a vital escape from the confines of home, an antidote to lockdown. Into the Landscape at Tatha Gallery in Newport on Tay features three artists who each interpret landscape in contrasting styles. Anna King portrays the overlooked ‘edges and outskirts of places where nature and mankind collide’, Dominique Cameron captures memories of a beautiful landscape experienced through a walk in the countryside and Ian Kinnear takes inspiration from the immediate surroundings of a garden.
