Tatha Gallery in Newport on Tay’s next exhibition, One Square Mile, is a shared exhibition featuring paintings by Claire Harkess RSW and Madeleine Hand, with ceramics by Michele Bianco. Conceived by Claire Harkess, the show had been planned for late spring and fortunately has been merely postponed until the easing of lockdown. The show celebrates nature seen within a mile of her home – brief, surprise sightings rendered fluidly and sparingly, reflecting the fleeting quality of nature. Madeleine Hand’s watercolours add a touch of nostalgia, portraying the patterns and rhythms seen in Scottish landscape, while Michele Bianco returns to Tatha with new sculptural ceramics, echoing the natural folds and forms found on the coast-line of Torridon.
