In a new initiative for 2022, Art & Craft Collective in Edinburgh has invited Scottish artist, and member of the Collective, Susan Smith into the gallery on the first Monday afternoon of the month from 2-3:30 to show how easy it is to sketch anywhere, on any subject. Susan will be free-form sketching using ink and watercolour, and is happy to answer questions on watercolour and oil painting, lino printing and tapestry weaving. The event is free, with no need to book.

An MFA graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and Edinburgh University and an alumna of the Hospitalfield residency programme in Angus, Susan is inspired by the natural world. A keen observer of animal and bird behaviour and a keen supporter of conservation, she often sketches and paints outdoors before developing her work in oils in her studio.
