The Walled Garden on the Archerfield Estate at Dirleton in East Lothian has launched a monthly supper club which showcases local seasonal ingredients. The café-gallery-deli is fast becoming a destination for delicious daytime food and is popular as a Saturday evening restaurant, so the Friday Supper Club with its a three-course set menu for £25 is welcome news.
In August, the starter was lobster ravioli with pickleweed, lime leaves and vegetable ribbons in a lobster bisque followed by rib of Tweed Valley beef with sautéed girolle mushrooms and spinach and then Crowdie cheesecake mousse with red fruits and ginger biscuit crumbs. Chef likes his ingredients to come from the estate or its neighbours, so you are likely to find rare-breed pork, East Lothian vegetables and even Archerfield’s own venison on the menu.
The next Friday Supper Club is on 27 September.
