The summer is the time to getting away from your normal routine and explore Scotland. If you are looking for places and events with a foodie theme to visit, then there are plenty to pick from. The line-up at the Dundee Flower & Food Festival on 31 August includes food writer Mary Berry; the Fabulous Baker Brothers and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. The Bruadar Country Fair, alongside the Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair from 23 to 26 August, has a large food hall with plenty to tempt the taste buds, including handmade chocolates, organic meat, fine wines and cheeses. In Dunfermline, on 25-26 August, the Bruce Festival centres on a medieval village in Pittencrieff Park. Visitors can step back in time and experience the cuisine (as well as the entertainment and crafts) of 14th century life.
