With foodie programmes filling the TV weekend schedules and Junior Masterchef and Junior Bake Off encouraging kids to cook, the Edinburgh New Town Cookery School has just the thing to drag the young ones away from the TV set during July.
At the Queen Street classrooms, they can learn all about the basics of cooking a simple lunch which they can recreate at home on a practical but fun one-day course. Aspiring teenage chefs can take a week’s course to gain confidence, learn the skills of following a recipe, preparing ingredients to create their own dishes.
And for school leavers there’s a course for those preparing to leave home and start university. Course details are at www.entcs.co.uk
