Retired sculptor Sue White Oakes‘ show at Dundas Street Gallery in Edinburgh has been organised by the city’s Dancing Light Gallery, offering a chance to see a collection of her new work – some of it fresh from the foundry – in one room, examine her technique and admire her attention to detail. The internationally-recognised sculptor’s life-long love of engineering has given her a keen appreciation of the perfectly-adapted mechanical structures of her wildlife subjects such as insects and birds.
