A member of Magnum Photos since 1989 as a news photographer, and its president for three years, Stuart Franklin became well-known for his documentary photography for, among others, National Geographic. Here, though, in his second exhibition with The Fine Art Society Edinburgh, he displays from Narcissus, a long-term project and book of photographs from his five-year sojourn in Otrøya, on the remote western coast of Norway. The impressive work produced during his stay amounted to a re-examination of the nature of landscape photography.
The Society continues to exhibit the best of Scottish art across the centuries and British art, design and furniture, viewable on its website. All works are available to purchase.
