Featured artist in August at Larks Gallery in Ballater is Stephen Redpath, in an exhibition celebrating the Gallery’s first ten years. From Aberdeenshire, Stephen has travelled widely and from an early age displayed a keen interest in the natural world, which led him on to a career in ecological research. Retiring in 2020 to focus on painting, he works mostly in watercolour, enjoying the medium’s unique qualities, and drawing heavily on observation of his environment as well as emotional response.
