Spring is definitely a time of openings and updates for hotels and restaurants. Artmag’s favourite Edinburgh pied-à-terre, Channings, has had a major refresh of its bar and restaurant. You’ll find a brand new modern, vibrant look with relaxed seating areas and a more informal vibe. Menus still rely on the best Scottish produce and Chef adds a twist, so pan fried scallops might be kissing black pudding bon bons or creamy cranachan smooching with forest fruits and crème frâiche sorbet. With 41 bedrooms it makes an ideal place for a night in the capital.
