Gallery Q in Dundee’s busy spring-summer programme continues with a feature exhibition of art using textiles and embroidery – Drawn Threads. The result of an open call for Scottish textile artists to exhibit pictures and wall hangings, it comprises work by ten artists from variety of backgrounds across Scotland. All are dedicated to using textiles in their artwork – on their own, or with embroidery, or with paint and other media showcasing the medium’s beauty and versatility.

The exhibiting artists are Rachel Drake from Glasgow, Andrea MacMillan from Auchtermuchty, Mo McKiddie from Wormit, Teresa J Majorek from Stenhousemuir, Sheila Mortlock from Broughty Ferry, Jan Reid from Perth, Alister Rutherford from Dundee, Judith Shaylor from Edinburgh, Kit Strathairn from Aberfeldy, and Astrid Weigel from Forfar (whose work is pictured).

The Gallery has new work from a variety of new and established artists, showing alongside the above. It supports the Own Art finance scheme, which makes purchasing artworks more affordable through payment by instalments.
