Allan McNally returns to Souter Johnnie’s Gallery in Kirkoswald with Scotland in Watercolours. Working from his studio in a former church in Dumfries and Galloway, McNally specialises in landscapes and coastal scenes of Scotland as well as scenes from his travels in the Himalaya and Tibetan Plateau. He will be explaining his painting process in a couple of afternoon painting demonstrations during the exhibition. Souter Johnnie’s Cottage is the former home of John Davidson, the souter (shoemaker), immortalised by Robert Burns in the famous poem ‘Tam o’Shanter’. It is now in the care of the National Trust for Scotland and includes a space for local artists to showcase their work.
