167 Renfrew St,

Visual activist, Zanele Muholi will showcases her ongoing self-portrait series Somnyama Ngonyama at the Reid Gallery. In them she confronts the politics of race and representation as each portrait poses questions on human rights, social justice and contested representations of the black body. The images were taken primarily between 2014 and 2016 in Europe, North America and Africa.

Somnyama Muholi’s self-portraits are often described as unapologetic in their artistry.

The exhibition is presented by Autograph ABP in partnership with The Glasgow School of Art.
