Cafe St Honoré is marking Terre Madre Day

Slow down for food class

Cafe St Honoré is marking Terre Madre Day, the day when Slow Food supporters celebrate food that is good, clean and fair. Scottish Restaurant Awards’ Chef of the Year 2011, Neil Forbes, is hosting a slow food master class with a festive theme on Saturday 10 December.

The chef director at the Edinburgh New Town bistro will demonstrate how to get the most from different meats including Perthshire roe deer and organic chickens. Neil will show how to make the best seasonal trimmings, including his special Christmas pudding. Joining Neil will be Sascha Grierson of Hugh Grierson Organic Farm at Tibbermore, Perthshire, who will share her passion for chickens. Morris Scott, a third generation farmer and experienced deer stalker, will talk about roe on the moss in Perthshire. Tickets cost £25 and include a two-course lunch. [– FL]
