Scottish Opera takes to the road with a revival of the 2013 production of Mozart’s masterpiece Don Giovanni, one of the world’s most performed operas. In the backstreets of 17th century Venice, hunting ground of the amorous, Don Giovanni waits. A mercurial rogue who flits from irresistible charm to brute violence in a heartbeat, he is the ultimate anti-hero – and he is about to suffer the ultimate reckoning. Sung in Italian with English supertitles, it features Roland Wood (Falstaff, 2021) and Jonathan McGovern (The Telephone, 2020) sharing the title role joined by Hye-Youn Lee (Nixon in China, 2020), Kitty Whately (Hansel and Gretel, 2021) and Keel Watson. Dark, atmospheric and full-blooded opera at its best.
