The Border Union Show (26-27 July) celebrates its bicentenary this year and is highlighting the agricultural industry in the region including its impressive credentials in food production. Some of the areas best young chefs have been competing for the Border Union Bicentenary Roux Apprentice Award. The winning student will cook alongside Albert Roux and other Michelin starred chefs at a bicentenary banquet this month at the showground, Springwood Park in Kelso. If you are planning to visit the show, do allow enough time for the food fair – it always has an inspiring array of local fare on display.
