The annual Art Walk Porty festival will take place in Portobello, a short way from Edinburgh. This year is its 10th anniversary, starting with a celebration at the Festival Hub at 268 Portobello High Street on 4th Sept, and as usual has its heart in the community, its spaces, and the connections between places, with a Showground theme.

Centring on the theme of performance and entertainment, a curated programme of works, ARCADE, has been developed in partnership with Nobles Amusements: it comprises a host of performance-based works taking place around Nobles’ venue and Portobello’s famous and ever-popular beach, involving circus, acrobatics, interactive theatre, puppetry sideshow, dance, film and installation.

The Art Walk event is arranged around four walking routes, hosting a series of artists’ works, exhibitions and open houses, with over 60 artists participating in 45 locations. A map is available via the event’s website (see left – some venues open one weekend only.)
