June – August

The SHIFT biennale, or SHIFT:ibpcpa, showcases the work of twenty performance artists in a mix of participatory, collaborative and unorthodox pieces, live-streamed via Instagram on its Periscope channel in conjunction with The Wall Space Gallery, with live performances, talks and interviews. The programme is available here.

A non-profit initiative with a focus on performance, collaborative and participatory art practices, [SHIFT: ibpcpa] provides a platform for artists to interpret and present work, and space for collaboration between artists and other non-art disciplines. It allows artists to develop refined methods of presenting physical and theoretical research-based work, while aiming to cross social, theoretical and professional boundaries, embracing the radical, fostering new ways of working. Submitted projects must include collaborative, participatory or performance elements.

The enterprise aims to foster a discourse on contemporary and future society and the art-world, featuring ‘nomadic’ artists who shift between ways of working, whether online or in physical place, hopefully fostering a dialogue not just between arts and non-art disciplines, but also among the audience as a way of nurturing an understanding about contemporary and future art practices.
