Glasgow Print Studio is showing two exhibitions, by printmakers Claire Barclay and Marguerite Carnec, whose contrasting approaches showcase different aspects of contemporary print.
KINSKINS is an installation of print work by Claire, that accentuates our physical relationship with printed surfaces. Unusually, she is using the gallery space to present larger-scale work, and aiming to remind us of how we encounter print within daily life, sensorily as well as visually. The exhibition questions how we attach value to print, in its different forms. Ends 4th Oct.

A French artist based in Glasgow, Marguerite works in paint, drawing, and printmaking, exploring femininity and the emotional richness of living. A trained illustrator, she is drawn to narrative, allowing stories and characters to emerge organically from abstraction. The exhibition, Give it Time, shows prints that have evolved through an iterative process, with the first impression intense and unfiltered, and successive ‘ghost’ prints becoming calmer and more reflective, mirroring shifting emotional states. Note: ends 30th Aug.
The Studio is a non-profit organisation with charitable status, so the sale of artworks directly supports artists, contributing to its continued work as a champion of fine-art printmaking; it supports the Own Art finance scheme, which makes purchasing artworks more affordable through payment by instalments.
