Traquair House’s High Gallery is the venue for an exhibition showing the work of some of the most important women painters of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, still alive and painting today. Scottish Women Can Paint has been curated by Andrew Brown, who exhibited many of these artists at his 369 Gallery in Edinburgh, including Carole Gibbons, Joyce W Cairns, Lys Hansen, Shelia Mullen, Margaret Hunter, June Redfern and Fionna Carlisle. Part of a project supported by Creative Scotland and Beyond Borders Scotland, it includes a series of interviews with these artists about their work and lives, and includes works of the late Anne Redpath, Joan Eardley and Caroline McNairn. A video introduction to the exhibition can be seen here. Admission is free.
