Scottish Storytelling Centre, Edinburgh: Hamish Henderson Celebrated

Alexander Moffat -Scotland's Voices

[31st July – 27th August]

At the heart of Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile, the Scottish Storytelling Centre is hosting Hamish Henderson Celebrated, billed as summer school, ceilidh and theatre showcasing the founding father of Scotland’s 20th Century folk renaissance.

The visual centrepiece of this is Alexander Moffat’s striking canvas, ‘Scotland’s Voices’, which forms the backdrop for a series of activities, talks and events delivered by contemporary singers, musicians, activists, poets and thinkers. The artwork is accompanied by an exhibition showing how the artist developed the piece, and the singers, poets and activists who spearheaded the Scottish Folk Revival.

More information about the programme of events, hosted by Traditional Arts & Culture Scotland (TRACS), is available at
