Highlights of the Spring Season by Scottish Opera include: a new production of Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Glasgow and Edinburgh); a revival by Sir Thomas Allen of his production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Glasgow, Inverness, Edinburgh and Aberdeen); Opera in Concert performances of Rachmaninov’s The Miserly Knight and Stravinky’s Mavra (Perth); and a new Opera Highlights production touring to 18 venues throughout Scotland. There is also a growing collection of Scottish Opera on Screen productions, including new commissions by contemporary music-makers, re-workings of popular favourites and staged concert performances, exploring up close the drama and emotion of this spectacular art form.
