Revered as the most prestigious portrait competition in the world, the popular BP Portrait Award, organised by the National Portrait Gallery in London, returns to the Scottish National Portrait Gallery for the tenth year. The Award carries a first prize of £35,000 and a total prize fund of £74,000, and this year’s winner is Brighton-based artist Charlie Schaffer for Imara in her Winter Coat, selected from 2,538 submissions from 84 countries.
