Scottish Glass Society, Glasgow: On the Edge

Siol, 2019, Catherine Macleod

18th – 25th September

The Scottish Glass Society invites you to join its celebration marking 40 years showcasing the wealth of glassmaking in Scotland. On the Edge is a jury-selected show featuring a beautiful, diverse array of work and processes in Scottish glass-making, and the exhibition brings together the work of eighteen members exploring the stress lines between historical concepts and contemporary ideology, often creating works that revaluate our understanding of their chosen medium.

And, in Celebration! the Society is showing an open display of the its members’ work, exemplifying their inspiration and talent. Today, across Scotland, the Society’s glass artists and makers are continuing to challenge our perception of the possibilities of glass as an artistic medium.
