Scottish Ensemble‘s Concerts for a Summer’s Night series returns for 2026, promising vibrant strings and dancing rhythms in radiant venues across the country.

Billed as a celebration of light, rhythm and connection, it’s a chance to experience the shimmering beauty of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Max Bruch alongside the bold voices of Jessie Montgomery, The National’s Bryce Dessner and Oliver Leith, moving effortlessly between centuries and continents. The light of Scottish evenings bestows a unique atmosphere on the Ensemble’s pulsing strings and singing melodies, stirring the senses and lifting the spirit.

The shows are being staged at Strathpeffer Pavilion on 16th June, moving on to Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, and finishing at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove on the 20th.

You can watch a video trailer for the series here, and the Ensemble’s website has more details about the programme.

Founded in 1969, Scottish Ensemble is a pioneering group of outstanding string players, which over the decades has built a reputation for imaginative, cross-artform collaborations, reimagining how classical music can connect with contemporary life, working with choreographers, visual artists, theatre-makers and puppeteers. Placing social impact at the heart of its work, its Music for Wellbeing programme supports people affected by cancer through a long-term partnership with Maggie’s cancer centres, while its schools and Young Artists programmes nurture creativity, helping to inspire new generations of musicians. Based in Glasgow, the Ensemble tours nationwide, the UK and internationally, and has garnered multiple prestigious prizes.
