The 2025 Scottish International Storytelling Festival centres around the theme of Lights of the North – exploring Scotland’s northern identity, sharing tales, songs and myths from the world’s northern arc, which bridges Finland to Iceland and connects Germany to Norway, with Scotland in between.
Over eleven days, some of the North’s most celebrated storytellers will join leading voices from Scotland to bring a feast of world-class storytelling, music, workshops, and shared experiences to Edinburgh’s Storytelling Centre, and venues across Scotland, with something for all ages and tastes in a full programme of events (see website, left). A downloadable brochure has the full list of events.

The Festival is accompanied by an exhibition of visual art by Hester Aspland at the Storytelling Centre. A Festival Pass is available, offering discounts to many events and at the Storytelling Centre’s bookshop and Haggis Box Café.
