Savour Spain

If the summer seems a long time ago and you want to savour the taste of Spain again, then check out the relatively new Spanish deli and café Goya23 in Stockbridge. Amaya Berroya and Roberto Rodrigo have set up a stylish operation and import delicacies like Iberian acorn ham, cheeses, foie gras from Extremadura, olive oil and wines from La Rioja, Ribera del Duero, León or Galicia. Resist the sweet Xaxu almond cakes if you can while you pick up a mix to make “home-made” tortilla. Watch out for Goya23 supporting Spanish events as they did early this month with a “wine and ibericos” tasting after the screening of the Spanish “Snow White” fantasy film Blancanieves, which was raising money for the next Edinburgh Spanish Film Festival.
